T-shirts and New Spaces

You ever have a t-shirt you love a lot? You know, the one you wear as often as possible for it's familiar comfort? The one you've had for so long and is so steeped in sentimentality you don't know what you'd do without it?

My other site, Anna K. Originals, was that t-shirt for me.

I loved it for it's familiarity. I'd had it so long and had so many memories tied up in it. It's been good to me and I grew a tremendous amount.

Lately, though, I felt uncomfortable in it. I know it's weird to say that about a space I myself created, but it's true. It had, in my mind, become a box I kept trying to fit into.

As a result, I was avoiding it.

So, I took a deep breath, took a leap, and binged on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt while I worked. This space is the result. I quite like it!

I have some exciting things to share with y'all in the coming weeks. Until then, I hope you take a moment to look around this space. I hope you feel welcome here and come back often!

In addition to a change in my virtual space, I've been transitioning into a larger studio space here in our home.

What once was the playroom for our boys is now my studio space. Our kiddos are older and they're using spaces in our house a bit differently. It took my Hubs and my Dad about a year to convince me to move in here. I was afraid I was taking over something the boys needed.

Turns out, they don't these days.

Moving the rooms around - and all the massive amounts of stuff in them - plus painting the studio was my Hubs's Mother's Day gift to me.

In the first picture you can see a bit of the bright green one of the walls was painted. The other walls were red, yellow, and blue like you'd find in a primary school. After a coat or two of primer, the walls were painted with Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. In fact, the Hubs and I like it so much we want to use it to paint our bedroom.

I'm still moving in, so I don't have a lot of pretty pictures to share. But y'all know I'm going to do a "tour" when it's not such a mess. :)

Until then, thanks for coming by to see the new site!
